From the Dean

The first semester is over and we are commencing the second. Looking back, it can be said that, in general, the first semester was quite successful and enjoyable despite the problems we faced. The first month was difficult for the faculty, students as well as the administrative staff because we were all new to Nepā School and its way of functioning. It took us some time to get accustomed to a different educational and work culture in an institution that plans to be an excellent center of learning, teaching and research as well as a friendly, open, and well managed one. The faculty and administrative staff enjoyed working with the students and were impressed by their dedication and hard work. Most of the students made steady and noteworthy progress in their academic reading, writing and analytical abilities, while a few students showed remarkable improvement. Yet the faculty felt that the students would have to work harder and longer and especially read the prescribed texts if they wanted to benefit more from the courses.

The comments we received from the students concerning the courses taught, teaching methods, faculty, facilities and administration were on the whole very positive and appreciative. A majority of the students reported that they benefited enormously by studying at Nepā School and enjoyed the first semester despite the heavy course work, rules concerning compulsory presence on the School premises from 9 am to 4 pm, and the occasional problems with the computers.

I am confident that the second semester will be as successful, beneficial and enjoyable as the first, if not more so. By the end of the course, we will have produced students who would certainly do themselves, their families and Nepā School proud.
