Academic Writing Course: English for Academic Purposes
Starting: 1 April 2013
Mondays and Fridays, 7:30 to 9:00 am
The academic writing course is an induction to the necessary competencies of reading, text analysis, academic vocabulary, writing and critical thinking. The main emphasis is on reading and writing skills that are necessary for writing an academic paper or a research proposal in the academic English style. The duration of the course will be 16 weeks.
The academic writing course is a stand-alone course but it will be compulsory for those who wish to apply for the course on Social Science Research Methodology and Proposal Writing which will be offered around July.

Weekly Reading Seminar Series

Wednesdays, 6:45 to 9:15 am
The Seminar Series is an interdisciplinary platform for university and college faculty and other interested individuals to engage in critical scholarly debate in a particular thematic area. A total of eight weekly sessions will be held. This seminar is primarily meant for university and college teachers but other individuals with at least a master's degree may also apply.
