Wayne Redpath is a political anthropologist and CELTA qualified English teacher. He began a Master’s degree: MRes in Himalayan Studies (Political Anthropology) with the Scottish Centre for Himalayan Research (SCHR) at the University of Aberdeen, which has been currently deferred. He has a Master’s degree in Anthropology and Cultural Politics from Goldsmiths, University of London (2007), and a Bachelor’s degree: BSc (Hons) in Applied Social Science (Social Anthropology) from the University of Southampton (2004). In addition, he also holds a CELTA qualification (Certificate of English Language Teaching to Adults) awarded by Cambridge University (2009). His main research interests include areas of cultural contestation; political violence, historical and contemporary revolutionary movements. He specialises in the study of the creation, manipulation and dissemination of ideological frameworks and their physical manifestation in material culture, ritualistic and cultural practices. He is currently learning Nepali and plans to conduct ethnographically based PhD research on the political situation in Nepal.
